Rome, is one of the most interesting cities in the world. Sure there are a ton of tourist and small corridors, but it is one of those places that you need to visit at least once in your life.
Rome’s history spans more than two and a half thousand years. While Roman mythology dates the founding of Rome at only around 753 BC, the site has been inhabited for much longer, making it one of the oldest continuously occupied cities in Europe. The city’s early population originated from a mix of Latins, Etruscans and Sabines. The city successively became the capital of the Roman Kingdom, the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire. It is regarded as one of the birthplaces of Western civilization and as the first ever metropolis.
Some of the top attractions in Rome include, The Colosseum, The Roman Forum, The Pantheon, The Trevi Fountain, St. Peter’s Basillica (in the Vatican), The Vatican Museums (in the Vatican), The Sistine Chapel (in the Vatican), Piazza Navona, Piazza Venezia, and the Arch of Constantine.
But, don’t discount just walking through the streets of old Rome. It is an attraction in it’s self.
