Where to Dine in Savannah

If you do not feel like preparing your meals when you visit Savannah, there are many delicious dining options. Many of these restaurants are located in historic buildings, so you will enjoy seeing the architecture along with getting a great meal to eat. If are looking for a casual dinner spot, consider East End Provisions, which offers excellent sandwiches and soup options in the heart of Savannah’s tourist district. You may also want to consider the Pirates House that has been serving customers since 1933 and is the oldest continuing operating restaurant in the city. The house where this restaurant is located, however, was built in about 1733.

When to Visit

Savannah is a beautiful city to visit throughout the year with outstanding weather. Many find that the best time to visit the city is in the spring when everything is in bloom. If you want to see the dogwood trees in bloom, then consider going to Savannah between April 5 and April 15. Others love to come to Savannah when the weather warms up so that they can play in the water. Ocean temperatures are usually warmest in July and August. Still, others enjoy coming to Savannah after the crowds leave in the fall when prices are generally lower. There are a few intersections to avoid, but generally the city is easy to get around.
