23. A&W Drive-Ins
A&W Restaurants, Inc. is a chain of fast-food restaurants that came to be synonymous with draft root beer and root beer floats. Best known were its “frosty mugs”. Founded in 1919, it was one of the country’s oldest chains (noted for introducing drive-thru service), and it is set to continue that legacy when it opens more restaurants than it ever initially closed down.
