3. Sakura Signals Spring in Japan
Cherry blossoms are native to the Himalayas. In Japan, the blooming of sakura, which is also the national flower of Japan, signals the arrival of spring. People across Japan celebrate the arrival of spring with a centuries old tradition called Hanami. Hanami is celebrated by sitting under a sakura tree and picnicking.
