Ise Grand Shrine, Japan
Japan knows about shrines, considering the island has about 80,000 of them. Out of all of them the most important one is the Ise Grand Shrine. The temple’s complex detail has caused it to become one of the most expensive shrines in the country.
Japan spends a million dollars every 20 years to rebuild the shrine in order to recognize the Shinto tradition of the renewal of nature and death. Don’t think for a second that you’ll be allowed into the temple, though. That honor is only granted to members of the Japanese Imperial family.
