Heard Island, Australia
Heard’s Island is one of the most remote islands in the entire world. The island is technically a part of Australia, but you can find it in between Antarctica and Madagascar.
The island is almost completely covered in ice, except for the two active volcanoes that are located there. The island is home to birds, seals, and four different types of penguins. Humans aren’t allowed to visit the island, but it’s neighbor, the McDonald Islands, are allowed visitors but only for “compelling scientific reasons.”
