Lascaux Caves, France

The voyage to uncover the history of the human race has been full of mystery. There’s one place in the world that has provided us with incredible realizations. The Lascaux Caves, located in the southwest of France, have absolutely remarkable paintings from the Paleolithic era. The paintings are estimated to be at least 20,000 years old! The paintings are found all over the walls of the cave and show bison, cats, stag, cattle, and so much more. The most stunning of them all is found in the Hall of the Bulls, which is known for its four paintings of bulls, one of which is actually 17 feet tall!

Unfortunately, people were banned from visiting the caves in the 1960s because they were taken over by black mold and fungi, which as you probably know, are very dangerous for humans. In addition, human presence can be destructive to the caves.

Luckily, last year a cave replica and museum was constructed right next to the caves for the public! Hey, it’s better than nothing!
