3 Things Moms Should Never Skip

Being a mom is one of the busiest jobs in the world. There are so many different things that a child needs throughout the day and having multiple children will only complicate matters. In order to juggle everything and make sure that everyone is happy, there are a few things that busy moms need to make time for.

Cleaning

Taking time to keep your home clean is about more than just reducing your embarrassment whenever someone comes over. A clean home equates to a healthy and safe place for everyone to spend their time. You don’t have to spend hours cleaning everything top to bottom. In fact, taking this approach will make you more likely to procrastinate. Stick to small goals instead. For example, start with picking up toys and wiping down surfaces as you go. Staying on top of cleaning also helps ensure that you keep pests out of your home. Pests love a messy home. A few simple messes can lead to issues with ants, fleas, mice and more. There are many different kinds of cockroaches, but all of them are nasty.

Good Nutrition

After a long and busy day, it’s incredibly tempting to grab some fast food on the way home. This will lead to an unhealthy diet that is bad for both the adults and the kids of the household. 9 times out of 10, a home-cooked meal will be a lot healthier than anything you get at a fast food restaurant. Try to meal plan and prep ahead of time. This saves a lot of time later on in the week when you have less time and energy to work with. If you want to be able to run around after your kids and keep up with them, a healthy diet is imperative. This is also a good way to teach your children healthy eating habits.

Yourself

So many busy moms just keep going and going from morning until night. A lot of people like to remain busy each day, but it’s important to set aside some downtime as well. This can include a nice bubble bath in the evening, 30 minutes of quiet reading, or even a day out with the girls. Downtime will give your brain a chance to unwind and destress. You’ll probably sleep much better at night as well, which will charge you up for the next day.

While there are certain things that absolutely must get done, stop pressuring yourself to do everything. All it takes it getting your priorities in order. And if you can’t get those things done over the course of a day, you can carry them over until the next day or weekend. Remember: the concept of “super-mom” is about as real as Superman himself.
