While Washington D.C. and San Francisco are seeing their respective Chinatowns go through a period of tribulations, New York City is still thriving. The Manhattan-borough Chinatown has a population of over 107,000 Chinese-Americans, the most of any single town in the Western Hemisphere. The population density puts Chinatown at 4,700 Chinese-Americans every square mile.
