The world’s largest freshwater lake contains 10 percent of all freshwater on planet Earth. In fact, there is enough water inside of Lake Superior – roughly 3 quadrillion gallons – to cover all of the land in North and South America in a foot of water. If the shoreline of Superior were laid out in a straight line, it would stretch from Duluth, MN to the Bahamas.
