Hell, Michigan Is A Real Place.
Located about 60 miles west of Detroit, Hell is in Livingston County, Michigan. A popular phrase for locals of Hell is that “More people tell you to go to our town than any other.” There are multiple theories about where the name came from, although none are verified fact. What we do know is that the township became official on October 13, 1841. Hell, Michigan joins Boring, Oregon and Big Ugly, West Virginia in a battle for weirdest town names.
