Here we have a Ford Maverick Grabber ad from 1971. The Ford Maverick is a compact car that was manufactured in North America from 1970 to 1977 and then in Brazil from 1973 until 1979. They were originally marketed as a two-door sedan at a price of $1,995, can you imagine getting a brand new car for less than two-grand? The Maverick was designed to be inexpensive to both, manufacture and maintain. Its design featured the long hood, fastback roof, and short deck popularized by the Mustang. It had simple, inexpensive pop-out rear side windows instead of the roll-downs. At this price, Ford managed to produce nearly 579,000 Mavericks in its first year!
