The US Has No Official Language.
Over 500 languages are spoken by the American people, and not one of them is official. There is no language of America, technically speaking. The leading language spoken is English with about 240 million residents speaking it, next is Spanish with 40 million speakers, then Chinese with 4 million and then a wild card – Tagalog which includes Filipino – has about 1.5 million speakers.
