The Greatest Rock Bands And Singers Of All Time, Ranked
27. The Who
In the era where bands took familiar objects, phrases, or words as an inextricable part of their names, The Who stands out. In part because of their dramatic and destructive live performances — where drummer Keith Moon would often trash his expensive drum kit — the band and their tunes garnered a lot of attention.
The Who formed in 1964 and quickly grew a following. They have sold over 100 million records since their founding and influenced countless bands after them. One of their more famous songs, “Baba O’Riley,” would be covered by numerous other rock bands that would come later. Either way, the band is absolutely one of the greatest rock bands of all time.
