14. Aerosmith
Another of those bands that meets many people’s criteria for first-class rock is Aerosmith. Having mixed the burgeoning genre of hair metal in a more pop bend, the band created hits that survived the genre’s eventual downfall in the early ’90s. And so, the major hits they’ve produced, in conjunction with their endurance as a band, has earned them a spot on this list.
A couple of the songs that helped them win this spot (and a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame) are “Dream On” and “Walk This Way.” Both of these songs can easily get stuck in one’s head. The raw vocals paralleled with the catchy melodies are a recipe for the so-called “earworm.” Anyway, the band has earned a special place in our hearts.
