5. Lock all Windows and Doors.
This seems like common sense but you’d be surprised how many households still leave their doors and windows unlocked – especially during the day. Your doors should be locked all day and night, even while you’re inside the house. Many break-ins actually occur while the homeowner or occupants are in the home. In addition, make sure you have deadbolt locks on all exterior doors. The stronger the lock the better the security.
